Before deleting files
Quit the NAM Rig standalone app and close any DAW that is using NAM Rig before changing preference files.
If you want a reversible reset, rename the file or move it to another folder first. NAM Rig recreates missing preference files with default values on the next launch.
Shared settings.json
settings.json stores user preferences shared by the plugin and standalone app. This includes browser choices, local folder choices, tuner auto mute, EQ reset behavior, appearance mode, update notice dismissal, and editor zoom.
Delete settings.json when an app-wide preference is stuck or unreachable. A typical example is a UI zoom value that makes the interface hard to use and cannot be changed from inside NAM Rig.

Standalone state file
The standalone app also keeps its own state file. It stores standalone-only state such as audio device setup, active input and output channels, input mute state, startup input behavior, saved window position, and the standalone plugin state.
Delete this file when the standalone app opens with broken audio-device state, an unwanted startup mute choice, an off-screen or bad window position, or a saved standalone session that you want to discard.

What a hard reset does
Deleting these files does not uninstall NAM Rig, remove plugin formats, delete your model files, delete impulse responses, or remove DAW project data.
After a hard reset, open NAM Rig again and reselect any preferences you need, including audio device, active standalone input, startup mute behavior, local model folder, browser sorting, appearance, EQ reset behavior, and UI zoom.
