How do PDC offsets work?

PDC tells the DAW how much latency a loaded model adds, and NAM Rig usually sets it from the measured model estimate automatically.

What PDC means

PDC means plugin delay compensation. In a DAW, NAM Rig reports latency so the host can keep tracks aligned when loaded models add processing delay.

Most users do not need to edit PDC manually. It is an advanced setting for cases where timing, phase, or parallel routing needs a specific correction.

Open the hidden PDC settings

  1. Load a model into Pedal, Amp, or Cab.
  2. Right-click the loaded loader panel for that slot.
  3. Use the Pedal Loader, Amp & Cab Loader, or Cab Loader PDC popover that appears.
  4. Check the Estimated Offset value.
  5. Use Set to Estimate to copy the measured estimate into the PDC offset field.
  6. Edit the sample value manually only when you know the correction you need.
  7. Use Reset to set that loader offset back to 0 samples.

Automatic model estimates

When a NAM model loads, NAM Rig measures or derives an estimated model latency and writes that value to the matching loader PDC offset automatically.

The host PDC value is the sum of the active loader offsets and other internal latency that NAM Rig reports to the DAW.

Loading an IR sets the NAM loader offset for that slot to 0. IR convolution latency is handled separately from the NAM loader offset.

When to adjust it

Leave the offset at the automatic estimate unless you hear timing or phase problems in a DAW session.

PDC affects host alignment and dry/wet compensation. It is not an input-monitoring latency or buffer-size control.
