Loading Tones

What do Browse, Favorites, Created, Recent, and Local mean?

The source tabs organize online tones, your saved content, recent loads, and files on your computer.

Source tabs

  • Browse shows searchable TONE3000 content.
  • Favorites shows TONE3000 tones you have saved. Favorites with downloaded model files can still load later while the computer is offline or while you are signed out of TONE3000.
  • Created shows TONE3000 content associated with your account.
  • Recent shows tones and files recently loaded in NAM Rig.
  • Local scans a folder on your computer for NAM files and impulse responses.

Recent items

Recent keeps track of loaded tones so you can return to a sound without searching again. It can include local files and downloaded TONE3000 content.

Recent is a history view, not a promise that every downloaded TONE3000 model is kept permanently. If a recent online tone was not saved as a favorite, NAM Rig may need to download it again in a later session.

Downloaded file storage

NAM Rig only keeps downloaded TONE3000 model files on the machine when the tone is saved as a favorite. Favorited downloads live in NAM Rig's local TONE3000 library so they are available again later, including while the computer is offline or while you are signed out of TONE3000.

Downloaded models that are not favorited are temporary session files. They are cleaned up when the NAM Rig session closes, so browsing and trying tones should not keep accumulating model files on your drive.

When to use Local

Use Local when you already have .nam files or IR files on your computer, or when you want to work without browsing online content.
